Collins Hospital for Animals has serviced the Washington D.C. metropolitan area since 1917. Our ongoing desire is to provide the best quality of veterinary care to our patients, their loved ones and to the community. We accomplish this by having a dedicated staff that truly cares, and having access to the latest technology both in house and through our referral service. Client education is the key to our success.
We are pleased to service the following types of pets:
- Rabbits and Guinea pigs*
- Small rodents*
Appointments are scheduled Mon-Sat by the receptionist team by calling us at 202-659-8830. Our receptionists and other team members will do our best to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. In the case of an emergency with your pet, please call us so that we can direct you appropriately depending on your pet’s situation.
EMERGENCY AND URGENT CARE
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty six days a week. Usually an emergency team includes a veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet’s life. Emergencies can be things such as accidental ingestion of rat poison, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate to call or come in immediately.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life threatening. If you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment, our veterinarians will work to "squeeze" you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
